Event Card Analysis: Garlic

GarlicH

Garlic is an event plant card in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes, and a member of the Guardian class. It costs 1 to play, and has 1/5. It has the Team-Up trait, and its ability moves a zombie onto the lane on its left when that zombie hurts it. However, if said zombie is Vimpire, he will be instantly destroyed instead.

Garlic has the ability to divert zombies into a lane where they can easily be destroyed. You should not play it on the leftmost lane as it will nullify its ability. Try to boost Garlic's health so it can divert more zombies and keep in mind that it has the Team-Up trait.

This card is the best counter against Vimpire, as it will destroy him whenever he attacks Garlic. This is especially useful on missions where the zombie hero plays Vimpire, as Garlic can take care of him easily. However, do not always rely on this ability as not every player plays Vimpire, and even then, there are a few ways that Vimpire can avoid its ability.

This plant works well with plants with Splash Damage such as Snapdragon, and tricks like Cherry Bomb to divert zombies closer where they can be destroyed more easily.

You can also use this as a low-offense but high-defense plant like Cactus, as Garlic can destroy 1 health zombies while it survives a few attacks. In addition, its Team-Up trait can help protect your strong plants and move any threats onto lanes for them to attack.

Never use Vimpire to get rid of Garlic as this will destroy him as soon as he attacks Garlic. Although if you need Frenzy zombies to attack through Garlic, you can bring Smashing Gargantuar or Coffee Zombie. Interestingly, when using this strategy, the zombie with Frenzy that destroys the Garlic will move to the left and then it does a bonus attack at that left lane. This can be useful if there are weak plants to the left of Garlic.

If you use a zombie to destroy it, be sure to remember that it will end up in the lane to the left after it attacks. A great way to combat it is to use cards like Terrify and Sumo Wrestler to move it to the leftmost lane. This will nullify its ability, which makes it easier to destroy. If that is not an option, resort to using tricks on this instead.

You can also use Rolling Stone or Weed Spray to destroy this with ease as long its strength is not more than two.

Deck Monday: Super Brainz "Grave Problem"!

As many may remember, yesterday i shared me (Dan10000 in the vid) beating a famous Youtuber using a custom made Super Brainz Gravestone deck, which i named "Grave Problem". Im here to show the decklist and how it works!

With this deck you are looking for a good starting hand, with Headstone Carver and Swashbuckler Zombie. Having this combo or just Headstone Carver is essential to get the deck going. Getting other zombies like Line Dancer, Stealthy Imp, High Diver and Mixed-Up Gravedigger to do massive damage, while Pogo Bouncer bounces anything back, allowing for a free hit with Stealthy or to keep something alive.

X4 Headstone Carver: Boosts all the gravestones in the deck. Be careful and know what the enemy may play to counter it, but if its safe and you have Swashbuckler on your hand, its the best Turn 1 play. Play it either on the Heights or Lane 2.

X4 Swashbuckler Zombie: Best turn 2 play. Play it on an empty lane, and its better if you played Headstone Carver on Turn 1, as its already value even if it dies. You can play it on the Heights, Lane 3 or Lane 4, the last being the best.

X3 Backyard Bounce: Bounces a plant to go face with a strong Zombie or to bounce a strong or dangerous plant.

X3 Electrician: Doing a bonus attack to remove something or to go face is amazing and very good. Can also be used to remove something by itself.

X3 Fun-Dead Raiser: Card Draw... What do you expect something else?

X4 Line Dancing Zombie: Great removal and damage dealer. Its a good idea to move it to an empty lane if boosted with Headstone Carver, as it could potentially do 8 damage, which can be a game decider.

X3 Rocket Science: Removal for dangerous or high boosted plants.

X3 Stealthy Imp: Big damage dealer. Best used with Headstone Carver to keep it alive, alongside a Backyard Bounce or Pogo Bouncer.

X2 Zombie High Diver: Big threat on the water lane. Its mostly ignored due to not many ways to defeat it, specially once boosted.

X4 Pogo Bouncer: Same as Backyard Bounce, but can be boosted and also can be used to block or defeat another plant.

X3 Tomb-Raiser: Makes more graves to boost or use. Can be replaced for virtually anything if you want to or dont have them.

X2 Mixed Up Gravedigger: Mixes up all our graves, which reactivate their abilities. Mainly used with Pogo Bouncer and/or Electrician to reuse their great abilities.

X2 Surprise Gargantuar: Big finisher in case your boosted gravestones didnt finish the job already.

Its a fun deck, and just like Nutty Control i may do an upgraded version once i have some more cards, like Fire Rooster mainly.

Thanks for reading!
This week we will also go back to work and post daily (or semi daily. We will see bout that), so stay tuned for more!

Beating CaptainH using my "Grave Problem" Super Brainz Deck!

So today i ended up beating CaptainH (Or Captain Hack, who is a Youtuber who does PvZ 2 and Heroes) using my custom made Gravestone Super Brainz deck, which i call "Grave Problem". I´ll share it tomorrow in Deck Monday, but for now enjoy the video of the match!

Turns out putting 1080° and recording with Bandicam makes the video look like SHIT, so sorry for the rather bad quality in this. Thats kinda how Bandicam is sadly.

Enjoy!

Deck Friday (+UPDATE): Budget Super Brainz Imps

Heres a super good deck to rank up and easy to make by HR. Its fun, effective and great!

With this deck you are looking to MUG a full board of Imps, Pogos, Electricians and more to defeat the opponent quickly!

X4 Mini-Ninja: Great turn 1 play and can be an annoyance if left alone.

X2 Smoke Bomb: Can move your Anti-Hero or strong zombies around to deal damage to face or to remove something quickly.

X3 Fire Rooster: Small removal against Shrooms or heroes with no Small removal.

X4 Regifting Zombie: Will draw all the cards needed and can make the opponent Mill and not block. Can be replaced with Fishy Imps or Hot Dog Imps.

X4 Toxic Waste Imp: Gives all the Imps the Deadly trait, which will wipe out any plant if just a finger of theirs touches them.

X3 Electrician: Makes as a great removal by itself, or damage to face with other zombies.

X4 Stealthy Imp: Big damage dealer and finisher.

X4 Pogo Bouncer: Bounces a plant, whether overboosted, dangerous or to finish the game.

X4 Mixed-Up Gravedigger: Reactivates all other abilities like Pogo Bouncer´s, Regifting´s, Electrician´s, Fire Rooster´s and more. Also a standalone threat.

Now for the UPDATE!
We are rather sorry for the lack of posts recently. This blog takes alot more than the FusionFall Blog, as the posts are more elaborate. Also we are also getting our finals this month, which mostly come in tedious projects, but its all fine and easy :)

We promise we will get more posts going next week, alongside other cool stuff!

Thanks for reading!

Event Card Analysis: Gargantuar Throwing Imp

Gargantuar Throwing ImpH
Gargantuar Throwing Imp is a 5 cost, 1/2 Imp Zombie. Its ability makes a Smashing Gargantuar on a random lane when hurt.

This zombie has very poor stats for his cost. However, his ability to make a Smashing Gargantuar can make your opponent think twice before using cards that do damage over multiple lanes. Hence, this will deter opponents from just recklessly using Sour Grapes, Cherry Bomb and Lightning Reed.

Electric Boogaloo can use Gargantuar Throwing Imp effectively since he has access to the most Gargantuars out of all Crazy heroes. He can also use Maniacal Laugh and Vitamin Z to boost the health of Gargantuar Throwing Imp, producing more Smashing Gargantuars and allowing him to inflict more damage.

Professor Brainstorm can use him with Teleport to put him in a lane filled with low-strength plants to purposefully activate his ability, which is useful if he has Imp-Throwing Gargantuar and Wizard Gargantuar on the field.

Z-Mech can also use health-boosting tricks like Rock Wall and Camel Crossing on Gargantuar Throwing Imp to improve his overall survivability. But you must note that even though this zombie depicts a Gargantuar being carried by an Imp, it isn't part of the Gargantuar tribe, meaning that Gargologist doesn't lower its brain cost. If you still need to lower its brain cost, resort to using Flag Zombie.

Impfinity can pair him up with Imp Commander to draw cards should Gargantuar Throwing Imp hit the plant hero, as well as Toxic Waste Imp, which will destroy any plant he hurts.

Due to his low stats, Gargantuar Throwing Imp synergizes well with Valkyrie. He also pairs well with Unlife of the Party, as he will be boosted whenever Gargantuar Throwing Imp is hurt.

If increasing his health is not an option, there are means of forcing him to throw multiple Smashing Gargantuars with his two health. If there is a lane with two attacking plants, both plants will trigger his ability.

Boosting the strength of this zombie can result in placing your opponent into dilemma - if they ignore him, he will continue to do damage. If they damage him, then Smashing Gargantuars will be made. However, do not boost him too much or your opponent will not hesitate to destroy him.
Against

Try to destroy him in one attack, as the more attacks he takes, the more Smashing Gargantuars you must deal with. Tricks that destroy zombies, like Weed Whack, Squash, Lawnmower or Whack-a-Zombie, work best, as they don't damage the zombie. This prevents him from creating any Smashing Gargantuars. If you must destroy him by other means, make sure you have a way to destroy any Smashing Gargantuars he creates. Shamrocket and other such tricks work well to destroy the Smashing Gargantuars made. Do not use Shroom for Two or Pair of Pears against this zombie, as he can easily make two Smashing Gargantuars because he will take damage twice. If you made 6 that turn, Water Balloons will be effective, but if not, just ignore him until you have enough sun. If there are several Smashing Gargantuars, Doom-Shroom is a good choice to wipe out all of them.

Event Card Analysis: Banana Split

Banana SplitH

Banana Split is a 4 cost, 4/4 Banana Plant. His ability makes 2 Half Bananas next door.

Banana Split has average stats for a 4 plant, with 4/4. However, its ability can be useful for blocking dangerous threats next door, except the aquatic lane. If there are two strong zombies in adjacent lanes, you can play Banana Split in front of the first strong zombie and let it get destroyed before the fight phase, Half-Bananas can be made so you can block those attacks. In general, you can treat it as Barrel Roller Zombie, but with better stats and lack of any additional traits.

Just note that unlike the Swabbies made from Barrel Roller Zombie, the Half-Bananas made when Banana Split is destroyed do not have the Amphibious trait, so you cannot block an attack from a strong zombie on the aquatic lane. In addition, it only makes Half-Bananas if the adjacent lanes either are unoccupied, or have a Team-Up plant.

You can also use Banana Split's ability to boost Muscle Sprout, although it requires spacing. The Half-Bananas made when the Banana Split is destroyed are counted as playing plants, therefore playing a Banana Split and letting it be destroyed can boost Muscle Sprout for 3/3.

You can treat Banana Split as a stronger plant version of Barrel Roller Zombie as it makes Half-Bananas next door when destroyed. While both Banana Split and the Half-Bananas have strong stats, they do not have Amphibious or Deadly like Barrel Roller Zombie. However, you need to be careful when your opponent plays this as it can block powerful attacks from your strong zombies on adjacent lanes, protecting your opponent for at least one turn.

If you want to destroy it instantly, a Cakesplosion or Rocket Science is enough to destroy Banana Split, although it will still make Half-Bananas next door.

To destroy the Half-Bananas, the easiest solutions are Weed Spray and The Chickening.
